About the Journal
Aims and Scope
The journal presents the discourses on interiority from multiple perspectives in various design-related disciplines: architecture, interior design, spatial design, and other relevant fields. The idea of interiority emphasises the internal aspects that make and condition the interior, which might be understood and manifested through the users’ inhabitation, through the materiality of objects and built environment as well as through specific methods and approaches of design practice. The journal addresses the idea of interiority as both experienced and practised, which might be examined through theoretical discussion, spatial design practice and empirical interior research.
Authors are invited to submit articles that address the questions of interiority in a wide range of interior context, which may include but not limited to: domestic and urban interior, personal and collective interior, contemporary and historic interior, global and indigenous interior. The journal also provides an open forum for discussing various aspects of localities that celebrate interior in specific socio-cultural contexts where particular ideas of interiority might originate and further extend. Submissions are also invited in the forms of reviews of books, projects and exhibition that are intended to challenge and extend the ideas of interiority.
